IAPTI

The International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (IAPTI) has been created by a group of professional language mediators as a vehicle for promoting ethical practices in their profession, as a venue in which to establish a dialog, without censorship and without conflicts of interest, with the aim of promoting effective professional ethics.

APTRAD

APTRAD, the Portuguese Association of Translators and Interpreters, is a formally constituted non-profit organisation based in Porto, Portugal. It was established in February 2015 by a group of freelance professionals in response to a perceived need for a modern, creative and innovative approach in order to achieve greater cohesion and exchange of information at national level within the profession.

APTRAD’s motto - Interpreting the present to translate the future – reflects the Association’s aim to promote and foster the growth of its professional members, and to support the integration as professionals of all future translators and interpreters into the market. APTRAD intends to become the chief point of reference and primary meeting place for all those who have chosen a career in translation and interpretation.

eCPD Webinars

eCPD Webinars is a small company, based in the UK, and run by its two directors, Lucy Brooks and Maia Figueroa. The company offers high-quality online training and online webinars to help translators, interpreters and other professional linguists develop their careers and run their businesses efficiently and profitably.

They organise special online training courses for in-depth study, as well as more general on-line webinar training for all levels of translator and interpreter.

FreeAgent

FreeAgent launched in 2007, hewn from the frustration that managing company finances was just too damn hard for most small businesses and freelancers. Since then they’ve doggedly stuck to our mantra of demystifying accounting and redefining the relationship people have with their finances.

Marketing Tips for Translators

Marketing Tips for Translators is a new website for freelance translators who want to have a successful freelance career and lifestyle. It is based on the podcast of the same name, focusing on interviews with successful freelance translators who have marketing tips to share. Every once in a while there will be solo sessions with step by step instructions on specific marketing techniques or strategies. The episodes are usually about 30 minutes each, long enough to get into depth on one or two particular topics but short enough to be an efficient use of the listener’s time.
