It’s finally here! I had a very nice conversation with Anna some time ago an we finally managed to get it online. We were both very excited to talk to each other, usually communicating with letters. Loved the interview, great tips & insight into the translation world. What amazes me the most are Anna’s comprehensive & clear views on translators’ online visibility, social media, future goals etc., even though she is a newbie translator. What a great way to build your translation business on such a good foundation! Most seasoned translators have no idea about any of that (blogging, marketing, social media etc.) and they refuse to change and/or move forward even though the world around us is constantly changing.
I don’t normally like audio material (audio podcasts, interviews etc.), I’m more of a visual person, but I must say again that I really enjoyed the interview Marta. You should do more and keep writing interesting posts, you’re doing a great job!

I really congratulate you on this wonderful idea! Interviews are a great tool not only because they allow us to hear each other’s voices and discover that we are humans, but also because they give us the possibility to shorten the distance between us and the person we are interviewing, to feel that we are closer to them. So I encourage you to continue doing them.
I also want to congratulate Anna on her excellent answers as regards translation and social media. I must admit that I’ve quite recently started embracing Twitter and social media in general as a way to promote my services and to reach the people who I would like to do some business with. Despite the fact that you have to devote sufficient time to it (as Anna pointed out), I consider it’s really worth doing it. Marketing must turn out to be a really good friend of translators.
